    What is importance of back side condition of a used stamp as far as spots, writing etc.? Is it important to describe?

    Foxing (brown spotting) is a fungal infection so should be mentioned as well as any writing on the reverse or other marks with a pen IMHO. Pencil marks can probably be carefully erased with a soft rubber.

    Such things do have an impact on the value of a stamp and it is better to mention than not as it will save any arguments about condition after an item has sold.
