You are right. It is very annoying for the buyer to hunt for his search.
I think the Delcampe team should take some steps to minimize this
kind of practice by the sellers. The one way of doing this is providing
a header or a provision in Delcampe site. Who ever finds such multiples
can inform the Delcampe Team. So that the seller can get a warning
from Delcampe. This can be one way of stopping this unethical practice.

    Other suggestions are also welcome.

    maghu.

This is not the only way in which some sellers overload the Delcampe servers. There is one seller who has over 580,000 items listed under Stamps. This represents 4.3% of all stamps listed. Most of the items are priced at over the appropriate catalogue value. For the quantity of listings, his selling rate is not high. (His feedback is only just over 10,000 which does not indicate a rapid selling rate)
In my opinion sellers like the one that you have found and sellers like the one I have found make Delcampe a less attractive site for buyers.
Perhaps Delcampe could set up a system where members could comment on such apparent abuses IN CONFIDENCE.
This would surely improve the site for all users

If you click on an individual listing you will see an option 'Report This Item' in the top right corner - this can be used to send a message either to the seller or to Delcampe direct

I have used this function several times when I've found lots of the 'same' item from a seller - send a message to the effect of 'this is one of xx near-identical items from the same seller'; hopefully if enough people shout something will be done

    HI....you are so right.

The multiple listing problem will not go away until Delcampe does something about it (which they steadfastly refuse to do). These quite ridiculous overpriced duplicate listings bury everyone else's and make D a nightmare for new buyers & less attractive to sellers.

How about D reconsidering charging a tiny listing fee? Maybe 1/4c per month per item? I have about 4000 items on the site & a monthly charge of $10 or 10 euros or whatever would be well worthwhile to get the site free of clutter.

The seller mentioned by another member with 580,000 items on site would have to pay $1450 monthly!!.......concentrates the mind wonderfully. I wonder if the multiple clutter would miraculously disappear?

In the meantime, emails to D usually get replied to (but not actioned very often). Anyone tried a sellers petition?

    Hi,

    Yes I agree with you.
The small refundable listing fee can be charged.
What it means the listing fee will be refunded / adjusted against the effective sales only.
Here we will not have any refund on sales which are deliberately withdrawn
    by sellers.
Technically this can be called as Effective Free Listing.

So the sellers has to list accordingly with reasonable price and minimize the duplication items.

I have posted the same suggestion some time back in some other forum.

Any constructive suggestion / criticism welcome.
    maghu.
