    Hello,

I found this item among some old letters. Can anyone tell me what this is? Where it is from? Have I put the picture right, or should it be upside down? And do you know what it is worth?

Hope you can help me :-)

    Thanks & Best Regards

    bonsoir musketeren,

my guess is more east in an indian state. and the post marks of a sultanate state. this will take an expert in the area of indian language to interpret the postal marks. turkish inscriptions would be in arabic writing.

    Hello,

    Thanks :)

Based on the links given so far, I also think, the answer lies to the East :D

    India, Nepal or maybe Tibet?

The Devanagari script, proposed in your link, which is written from left to right, with a top-bar connecting the letters together, is a good guess, if I turn my scan upside down. See below.

But I am still keen to hear from other members, who can narrow the possibilities down.

    Best Regards

    bonjour/hallo musketeren,

perhaps you should put this on this philatelic forums. it may receive more answers than in the 'old paper' category. :wink2:

    amities/grube,
cajunsr. ( whose wife's ancestor's are danish- bruns. she is a great baker. she makes excellent french bread for cajun. :gna::cool2:)
