Changes at Mangopay will affect VISA users

    Being in North America, My ability to pay sellers is limited because the vast majority are in Europe.
    We're left with 2 workable choices: PayPal and Delcampe Pay. In fact, I started blocking sellers who don't accept one or the other as their flooding my searches with items I cannot buy!

    Here's what the point is: I top up my Delcampe acct using a VISA card, as it's fast and convenience. As of the last payment, I was charged a "Cash Advance Fee" and may be charged overdraft interest at 21%.

    I inquired of VISA why that is, and it's because Mango Pay has changed it's designation to a financial institution. Therefore, any funds sent from now on are not considered purchases but cash advances to another financial firm.

    Delcampe - I highly suggest you look into this as it makes Delcampe Pay useless for overseas accounts since we have no reasonable way to fund it. It leaves no way to pay your annual fees, etc. and will drive business away if this payment option is lost. Delcampe will become "PayPal Only" for international buyers...

    I'd really appreciate all comments & insights.

    Unfortunately, TransferWise does not appear to be a solution for Canadians to top up Delcampe accounts.

    I've tried everything with this site. It either requires a conversion from CAD to another currency OR if you want to send CAD to Delcampe and received CAD there, you need to set them up as a recipient account. To do that, the website requires institution number, branch number and account number, not IBAN & BIC numbers. Delcampe does not provide this information (at least I could not find it anywhere searching for their payment information).

    TransferWise might work paying a seller in Europe who accepts bank transfers in their own currency. I have compared several recent PayPal receipts for GBP, Euro, USD and AUD. In every case PayPal was somewhat cheaper. The reason is,.. even though their conversion rates are worse, it's because the seller pays the PayPal fee, whereas TransferWise charges the buyer / sender the fee.

    There is no issue here, I was just informing you and other members checking this thread about this, because it implied that the issue was with our partner or Delcampe, when it was actually linked to VISA.
    And on top of that, other members might have had the same interrogations as you had.

    It's only fair to settle the records straight.
