Die Marke hat keinen offiziellen Ausgabetag. Es gibt weder einen markenzugehörigen Sonderstempel noch philatelistische Sammelartikel der Schweizer Post. Die Briefmarke wurde auf der Webseite der Schweizer Post am 31.7.2025 angekündigt. Der erste Verkaufstag war der Schweizer National Feiertag 1.8.2025, Sonderstempel der Schweizer Post zum Schweizer National Feiertag 1.8.2025.
Die Illustration des Briefes zeigt ein Blick von der Lauchernalp im Lötschental zum Bietschhorn 3934m. Anmerkung: Das Bietschhorn wurde früher Nesthorn genannt. Diesen Namen trägt allerdings auch der rund sechs Kilometer entfernte Berg namens Nesthorn 3820m nördlich der Belalp. Die Bezeichnung Nesthorn blieb beim Bietschhorn im Namen des Nestgletschers westlich des Gipfels erhalten sowie in einem vom Nordgrat nach Westen abzweigenden Gratvorsprung 3341m mit der Bezeichnung Kleines Nesthorn, welches durch den katastrophalen Bergsturz von Blatten im Mai 2025 international in die Schlagzeilen geriet. Das sogenannte Kleine Nesthorn ist kein eigenständiger Berg, sondern ein Punkt des Nordgrates des 3934 Meter hohen Bietschhorn.

Le timbre a été annoncé sur le site web de la Poste Suisse le 31 juillet 2025. Le premier jour de vente était le jour de la fête nationale suisse, le 1er août 2025. Cachet spécial de la Poste Suisse pour la fête nationale suisse du 1.8.2025.
L'illustration de la lettre montre une vue depuis la Lauchernalp dans le Lötschental vers le Bietschhorn (3934 m). Remarque : le Bietschhorn s'appelait autrefois Nesthorn. Cependant, ce nom est également porté par la montagne située à environ six kilomètres au nord de Belalp, appelée Nesthorn (3820 m). Le nom Nesthorn a été conservé pour le Bietschhorn en référence au glacier Nestgletscher à l'ouest du sommet ainsi qu'à une crête de 3341 m qui bifurque vers l'ouest depuis l'arête nord et qui porte le nom de Kleines Nesthorn. Celle-ci a fait la une des journaux internationaux en mai 2025 à la suite de l'éboulement catastrophique de Blatten. Le Kleines Nesthorn n'est pas une montagne à part entière, mais un point de l'arête nord du Bietschhorn, haut de 3934 mètres.

L'illustrazione nella lettera Mostra una vista dalla Lauchernalp nella valle del Lötschental verso il Bietschhorn (3934 m). Nota: il Bietschhorn era chiamato in passato Nesthorn. Tuttavia, questo nome è condiviso anche dalla montagna Nesthorn (3820 m), situata a circa sei chilometri di distanza a nord della Belalp. Il nome Nesthorn è rimasto al Bietschhorn nel nome del ghiacciaio Nest a ovest della vetta e in una sporgenza della cresta che si dirama dalla cresta nord verso ovest (3341 m) chiamata Kleines Nesthorn, che ha fatto notizia a livello internazionale a causa della catastrofica frana di Blatten nel maggio 2025. The illustration in the letter shows a view from Lauchernalp in the Lötschental valley to the Bietschhorn (3,934 m). Note: The Bietschhorn used to be called the Nesthorn. However, this name is also used for the mountain called Nesthorn (3,820 m) located about six kilometers away north of Belalp. The name Nesthorn was retained for the Bietschhorn in the name of the Nest Glacier west of the summit, as well as in a ridge spur branching off from the north ridge to the west (3341 m) called Kleines Nesthorn, which made international headlines due to the catastrophic landslide in Blatten in May 2025. Am 28. Mai 2025 brach ein grosser Teil des Birchgletschers unter der zusätzlichen Belastung von rund neun Millionen Tonnen Bergsturzmaterial des Kleinen Nesthornes (3342 m ü. M.) ab. Die dadurch ausgelöste Schutt- und Eislawine verschüttete rund 90 Prozent des Dorfes Blatten.
Mit dem Kauf einer Briefmarke «Blatten – Lötschental» der Schweizer Post werden direkt Menschen in Not unterstützt. Der Zuschlag von 5.00 trägt dazu bei, akute Notlagen im Dorf Blatten zu lindern. Le village de Blatten et le hameau de Ried, dans la vallée du Lötschental, ont été presque entièrement détruits par une avalanche de débris et de glace. La plupart des quelque 300 habitants ont tout perdu. On estime que l'amas de débris dans le village de montagne enseveli de Blatten atteint jusqu'à 100 mètres de haut par endroits.
Le 28 mai 2025, une grande partie du glacier du Bouleau s'est effondrée sous la charge supplémentaire d'environ neuf millions de tonnes de débris provenant du glissement de terrain du Kleiner Nesthorn (3 342 m d'altitude). L'avalanche de débris et de glace qui en a résulté a enseveli environ 90 % du village de Blatten.

Il villaggio di Blatten e la frazione di Ried, nella valle del Lötschental, sono stati quasi completamente distrutti da una valanga di detriti e ghiaccio. La maggior parte dei circa 300 residenti ha perso tutto. Si stima che il cumulo di detriti nel villaggio di montagna di Blatten, sepolto, sia alto in alcuni punti fino a 100 metri.

On May 28, 2025, Switzerland experienced an unprecedented natural disaster. The village of Blatten and the hamlet of Ried in the Lötschental valley were almost completely destroyed by a debris and ice avalanche. Most of the approximately 300 residents lost everything. The pile of debris in the buried mountain village of Blatten is estimated to be up to 100 meters high in places.
On May 28, 2025, a large portion of the Birch Glacier collapsed under the additional load of approximately nine million tons of landslide debris from the Kleiner Nesthorn (3,342 m above sea level). The resulting debris and ice avalanche buried approximately 90 percent of the village of Blatten.
