Die Briefmarkenserie "Technische Denkmale" der DDR wurde in mehreren Jahren herausgegeben, darunter auch 1985. Die Serie umfasst verschiedene technische Denkmäler, die auf den Briefmarken abgebildet sind.

Die Briefmarken mit den Werten 10 Pfennig und 85 Pfennig aus dem Jahr 1985 zeigen folgende Motive:

10 Pfennig: Bock-Dampfmaschine (1833) in Gera.

85 Pfennig: Balancier-Dampfmaschine (1848) in Freiberg.

Diese Briefmarken sind bei Sammlern aufgrund ihrer historischen und technischen Bedeutung sehr beliebt.
