2. Description

This is a rare, original radio broadcast transcription set featuring "The Def Leppard Profile Special." It is a First Edition Original Radio Pressing distributed solely to radio stations for broadcast in April 1984, during the height of the Pyromania era.

The set consists of 3 vinyl LPs containing a 2-hour profile of the band. It features interviews with band members (Joe Elliott, Steve Clark, Rick Savage, Rick Allen, and Phil Collen) mixed with their hit songs. The lot includes the complete original paperwork: the multi-page cue sheets (listing segments, running times, and commercials like Plymouth and Nabisco), the "Important!" proof of performance affidavit card, and the original business reply envelope.

Vinyl: Near Mint (NM). The vinyl surfaces appear glossy and clean, typical for radio transcription discs which were often played only once or twice by the station.

Inserts/Paperwork: Excellent (EX). The cue sheets are crisp and clean with no tears. The yellow affidavit card is unused and in perfect condition.

4. Notes for collectors

This is an authentic 1984 Radio Transcription Disc, NOT a commercial release or a modern reissue. These records were manufactured in limited quantities specifically for network affiliates and were often contractually required to be destroyed or returned after broadcast, making complete sets with paperwork highly collectible.

Pressing Info: The runout grooves feature the "ALSHIRE" stamp, indicating the pressing plant used by NBC for high-quality broadcast distribution.
Context: This special aired right as Def Leppard was solidifying their status as global superstars following the massive success of Pyromania. A fantastic historical artifact for serious collectors.
