2. Description

This is the authentic Original 1955 Shellac Pressing of The Dodgers' R&B classic "Drip Drop" on the iconic Aladdin label. A true survivor from the golden era of Doo-Wop, this 78 RPM disc offers the deep, resonant sound that only shellac can provide.

"Drip Drop" is a high-energy vocal jumper that became a staple of the early R&B scene. Finding a playable shellac copy of this title is becoming increasingly difficult, making this a significant piece for archivists and serious collectors of mid-50s rhythm and blues.

Labels: Clean and legible with the classic blue and silver Aladdin design.

4. Notes for collectors

FIRST PRESSING AUTHENTICATION:
- Release Date: Officially released in early 1955.
- Matrix Dating: The specific Monarch Record Mfg. Co. delta numbers (Δ1675 / Δ1677) in the deadwax indicate this disc was pressed in late 1954 for the initial 1955 release, confirming it is the absolute first run.
Format Warning: This is a 78 RPM Shellac record. It requires a turntable capable of playing at 78 RPM and a wide stylus (specifically designed for 78s). DO NOT play with a standard microgroove (LP/45) needle.
Authenticity: Unlike the 1980s red vinyl reproductions, this 10-inch heavy shellac disc is the true original artifact.
