Cette médaille commémorative en bronze fut émise à l’occasion de la grande vente aux enchères « The Art of Patek Philippe », organisée le 9 avril 1989 à l’Hôtel des Bergues à Genève par la maison Habsburg Feldman, afin de célébrer les 150 ans de la manufacture Patek Philippe.
Chaque lot associait une montre Patek Philippe d’exception et une médaille frappée spécialement pour l’événement, remise aux acheteurs en gage d’authenticité et de commémoration.
La médaille présente les portraits d’Antoine Norbert de Patek (1812–1877) et Jean Adrien Philippe (1815–1894), fondateurs de la maison, entourés d’un décor horloger.
Elle est accompagnée de son carton original, signé par l’un des deux commissaires-priseurs, M. Osvaldo Patrizzi Feldman, ce qui en renforce la valeur historique.
Il est également précisé que le catalogue officiel de la vente fut offert aux acheteurs ce jour-là. L’exemplaire joint ici comporte la fiche complète du lot 125, à laquelle correspond la médaille présentée.

This bronze commemorative medal was issued for the prestigious auction “The Art of Patek Philippe”, held on April 9th, 1989, at the Hôtel des Bergues in Geneva by Habsburg Feldman, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Patek Philippe manufacture.
Each auction lot combined an exceptional Patek Philippe timepiece with a specially struck medal, presented to buyers as a mark of authenticity and commemoration.
The medal features the portraits of Antoine Norbert de Patek (1812–1877) and Jean Adrien Philippe (1815–1894), founders of the house, surrounded by horological motifs.
It is accompanied by its original presentation card, signed by Mr. Osvaldo Patrizzi Feldman, one of the two auctioneers, which enhances its historical significance.
It is also noted that the official auction catalogue was offered to buyers during the event.
The copy included here contains the complete entry for Lot 125, corresponding to the presented medal.
