This historical document is a decree from 1748, issued in Prague on behalf of the Imperial and Royal authorities in the Holy Roman Empire (Germany), Hungary, and Bohemia. Its main points are:

Deterrence: The document addresses the problem of soldier desertion and the complicity of civilians in hiding or assisting deserters.
Penalties: Severe penalties are announced for those who hide deserters, help them escape, sell or buy clothing from deserters, or who are aware of desertion but fail to report it. This applies to both civilians and civil servants.
Punishment of Civil Servants: Civil servants who assist deserters or conceal their whereabouts will be punished exemplarily and may even be drafted if they are fit for military service.
Call for Cooperation: The public is urged to report deserters and cooperate in their search to maintain military strength and reduce the cost of recruiting new recruits.
