    thought Francis Frith might help, there is a Cheap St in Sherborne Dorset and caption does say "Looking towards...." Dorset at least the stone roofs look right, Cheap St Frome is all tiled roofs, Market Harborough is Leics and its all slate roofs, have tried google earth can't find exact match

    thought Francis Frith might help, there is a Cheap St in Sherborne Dorset and caption does say "Looking towards...." Dorset at least the stone roofs look right, Cheap St Frome is all tiled roofs, Market Harborough is Leics and its all slate roofs, have tried google earth can't find exact match

    I don't think there is a Cheap Street in Market Harborough.
    Frome looks too build up.
    Using Google street view, none of the views into Cheap Str, Sherborne look right - there simply isn't a steep enough slope.

    The mystery continues...

    Frome looks too build up.
    Using Google street view, none of the views into Cheap Str, Sherborne look right - there simply isn't a steep enough slope.

    There is a Cheap street at Chedworth, Gloucestershire, some of the older buildings seem to match the postcard

    Hi,

    Old_postcards has it right: we are in Chedworth.
    However the link doesn't lead to the correct position.

    See below:
    - First photo: the house on the left side of the road.
    - Second photo: the house down the road (only partially visible on the first photo).
    - Map: A marks the position suggested by Old_Postcards; B marks the correct position.
