Hi, yes, prior to being expropriated by the Nazis, the swastika, or other names the symbol is known by other cultures, was recognized as a symbol of peace, wealth, or success. Wikipedia has a fairly good coverage of the topic. The EU doesn't have a legal ban on it, but German law does.

Not sure how that ties in with Delcampe policy etc. Presumably there is a list of banned items. Unless Delcampe prohibits the sign being displayed, perhaps a listing with a note to the effect that the sign was used in the US & elsewhere (there are Native American tribes who used it & it's important to Hindus) and that's the probable context in which the swastika was used on these cards would allay any concerns or misunderstanding. There are a number of postcards from the 1900s - 1920s that carry the symbol, either as a border or as a central figure.

    that's my nickel's worth.

(Personally I aim to stay away from dealing in all such symbols & collectibles not only because of the historical associations with the Nazis, but generally bad karma!)

    cheers, Brent
