Was haben Briefmarken und Museen gemeinsam? Beide können Geschehnisse aus der Geschichte abbilden und damit eine Verbindung zur Gegenwart oder gar der Zukunft schaffen. So wie etwa diese Sondermarke, die zum 125. Jubiläum des Landesmuseums erscheint. Gestern, heute und morgen: Die Jubiläumsmarke hebt die Entwicklung und architektonische Geschichte des Landesmuseums hervor. Alt und Neu stehen Seite an Seite – kontrastreich und dennoch gleichwertig. Die eine Hälfte des spektakulären Ensembles bildet das historische Gebäude, das 1898 seine Tore öffnete. Für dessen Bau vereinte der junge Architekt Gustav Gull bereits damals architektonische Elemente aus verschiedenen Epochen, etwa aus dem Spätmittelalter und der Neuzeit. Ergänzt wurde der mittlerweile denkmalgeschützte Gebäudetrakt dann im Jahr 2016 mit dem Neubau der Schweizer Architekten Christ & Gantenbein. Dieser beherbergt grosse Ausstellungshallen, eine moderne Bibliothek und ein Auditorium für öffentliche Veranstaltungen. Das Landesmuseum, das als Baudenkmal von nationaler Bedeutung gilt, wirft im Rahmen seiner Jubiläumsaktivitäten nicht nur einen Blick zurück, sondern schaut auch in die Zukunft. Quel est le point commun entre un timbre et un musée? Tous deux peuvent présenter des événements historiques et créer un pont avec le présent et parfois même le futur. C’est exactement le but de ce timbre spécial émis à l’occasion des 125 ans du Landesmuseum. Hier, aujourd’hui et demain: le timbre commémoratif retrace l’évolution et l’histoire architecturale du Landesmuseum, où l’ancien et le nouveau se côtoient, formant à la fois un contraste et une unité. Le bâtiment historique, qui a ouvert ses portes en 1898, forme la moitié de cet ensemble spectaculaire. À l’époque déjà, le jeune architecte Gustav Gull avait assemblé des éléments architecturaux de différentes époques (fin du Moyen-Âge et ère moderne notamment) pour construire le musée. En 2016, l’extension imaginée par le cabinet d’architectes suisse Christ & Gantenbein est venue se greffer au bâtiment existant, désormais classé monument historique. Celle-ci abrite de grands halls d’exposition, une bibliothèque moderne et un auditorium dédié aux manifestations publiques. Les événements organisés à l’occasion de l’anniversaire de ce monument d’importance nationale ne refléteront pas uniquement le passé, mais offriront aussi un regard vers l’avenir. Cosa hanno in comune un francobollo e un museo? Entrambi possono rappresentare eventi storici creando un ponte tra il passato, il presente o addirittura il futuro. Come per esempio questo francobollo speciale emesso in occasione dei 125 anni del Landesmuseum. Ieri, oggi e domani: il francobollo commemorativo mette in risalto lo sviluppo e la storia architettonica del Landesmuseum. Antico e moderno sono accostati e vanno a creare un equilibrato contrasto, senza che l’uno sovrasti l’altro. Metà dello spettacolare complesso è infatti costituita dall’edificio storico inaugurato nel 1898. Per la sua costruzione il giovane architetto Gustav Gull scelse di coniugare elementi architettonici di periodi diversi, il tardo medioevo e l’epoca moderna. A quest’ala dell’edificio, divenuta nel frattempo monumento storico, è stato affiancato nel 2016 il nuovo complesso disegnato dagli architetti svizzeri Christ & Gantenbein. Qui trovano posto ampie sale espositive, una moderna biblioteca e un auditorium dedicato a manifestazioni pubbliche. Considerato monumento di importanza nazionale, nell’ambito delle attività organizzate per l’anniversario il Landesmuseum non offre solo una retrospettiva storica, ma ha anche lo sguardo rivolto al futuro. What do postage stamps and museums have in common? Both can show events from history, creating a connection to the present or even to the future. Like this special stamp, for example, issued to mark the 125th anniversary of the Landesmuseum. Past, present and future: the commemorative stamp highlights the development and architectural history of the Landesmuseum. Old and new stand side by side – rich in contrast and yet of equal value. The historic building, which opened its doors in 1898, constitutes one half of this spectacular ensemble. To build it, young architect Gustav Gull intentionally combined architectural elements from different eras, such as the late Middle Ages and the modern period. In 2016, a new building by Swiss architects Christ & Gantenbein was added to Gull’s wing of the building, which is now listed as a historical monument. It is home to large exhibition halls, a modern library and an auditorium for public events. In the activities surrounding its anniversary, the Landesmuseum, regarded as an architectural monument of national importance, is not only looking to the past but also to the future.
