    Hi Kennack,

The default display of items on Delcampe, whether browsing or searching is that the most recently listed item appears at the top of the listings. As newer items appear your items gradually "sink" further and further down the list.

When an item gets relisted, it retains it's original item number and therefore stays in the same position in the list, it does not come back to the top.

If you are listing your items at fixed price I cannot see any difference at all, whether you list them for 2, 3, 7 or 28 days. Personally I think I'd go for the 28 days option.

However, if you are listing in auction format I wouldn't go for more then 7 days.

This thread: Link (http) provides some valuable information and you may want to have a look at it.

My personal advice is: list on a regular basis - that way you always have some items near the top of the pages and if a potential customer spots one London postcard, they may well have a look at all your London postcards.

    I hope this helps.

I do a slight variation on Mainly's routine, and list using the 7-day option and repeat 10 times. At the end of this period you can restart the sale, at which time it again becomes 'new' (and top of the heap) for the first 7 days

Incidentally, if you modify a listing, for example change the sale format or reduce the price, the system takes it as new and shoots it up the charts

Don't be so pessimistic - I don't use the Delcampe Lister preferring to use the manual input form and either copy and paste from Turbo Lister if they've been on eBay, or typing up descriptions using Wordpad beforehand and copying from there. You can build up quite a head of steam that way and most of the elapsed time is loading the image and starting the sale - I usually reckon on doing two items every three minutes and let's face it - there's nothing on telly to distract you, is there?

Welcome to the Delcampe Nerdy Subgroup Spreadsheet Club!

I like spreadsheets which is just as well as I used to teach their use in Adult Education classes!

Like you I try to list similar country or town/county cards together to eliminate mistakes (I wish!), the only difference is when I'm scanning I use a combination of month/day/sequence number, so today's offerings will run from Mar0201 onwards - simply a personal preference as I find the alphanumeric combination easier to work with than pure numeric

Your items will automatically get relisted for as many times as you specify when you first list them.

After that they will get closed and appear in your control panel in "my selling>closed". There are 3 sections there: one for sold, one for unsold and one for archieved items.
Under the unsold section you can click one box to select all and then click relist.

Btw, I don't use the lister.
My reasoning being, that I have to type out the info in any case, regardless of whether I do this on an online selling form or in a spreadsheet.

I scan the front of my cards before I start listing and then, while I am listing I scan the back of the next card while waiting for the image to upload.

Like the others have said, I too sort my cards prior to listing to minimize the number of times I have to change categories.

At the end of the auto-repeat period you will also get an email saying something along the lines of "D* Closed item (Number and Description)" in the subject line

You are allowed to upload the same item(s) 3 times per year using the lister.

As for restarting your items - there is no limit.

If you have connectivity problems, I'd certainly suggest that you list for 28 days x 99 relists. That way you can forget about anything that's listed (unless it sells of course)

That is harsh! I had a similar problem when I moved from Wiltshire (57K dial-up) to Westmorland (32K on a good day); got broadband now but one of the slower speeds in the country - still an improvement though

The only reason I list 7 x 10 is by the end of the eleventh week my items have dropped down through the rankings to about page 102 amongst the spiders and mouse-droppings, so the quarterly restart bumps them back to the top in date sequence and gives me chance to revise the price and things
