All in all it is a great move, a wonderful evolution. There are however a few small points that need to be addressed. It has always been a concern that because I am a buyer living in a non euro zone country that I have to send cash through the postal system which means it sometimes does not arrive, also it sometimes means that I often have to pay double for an item. A few more of the more active Delcampe sellers are now beginning to use PayPal and CCNow and I wonder how this can be encouraged. The banks in the UK charge about £10 to transfer money to European banks so for a £5 item it is just too expensive to pay in this way. The result is that unless an item is a 'must have no matter what' it is just too much hassle and worry to make it worth while buying through Delcampe when the vendor has decided not to utilise an online payment system. Most of the eBay dealers now understand this very well indeed, in the catagories within which I buy I am now finding only a few Quebecois are still resisting evolution. This means that there are a lot of Delcampe items I do not bid for. I really do understand and sympathise that this is very much a French cultural issue and because of ths it may take years to sort out. Against this entrenched attitude it only takes a few others like me not to bid and a situation then arises whereby the vendor is not getting the best price for an item since not all the potential bidders are prepared to bid so it would be more profitable for vendors to do so, even after tax!! I think that there is no easy answer but I wonder how a N.American buyer living in say Tuscon Arizona would easily be able to get hold of euro notes in order to mail them by registered post to an address in a remote part of France, particularly since almost no postal authority will insure cash! Anyway, time will tell. Once again many, many thanks for all your hard work, it is simply amazing that the whole team is only eight people. it just proves what can be done by a small dedicated team of people. :whitewine:
