Old items reappearing?

I recently sold some Haiti stamps to a German collector who paid me today.

Going to pack the items I could locate none of them. Vaguely I remember selling some of these previously but my archived sales do not go back far enough to check.

Looks like I will have no choice but to refund and eat humble pie and hope I do not get a slew of negatives which would be justified from the buyers point of view.

This has happened to me before and I put it down to possible error on my part. This is definitely no error as the location was bereft of the purchased stamps. All I can think of is that for some reason previously purchased items did not disappear from my listings.

Has anyone else come across this before? Or is it peculiar to me?

Hi Wycombe1, has happened to me a couple of times, whether it was a mistake on my part or some quirk of Delcampe i have no idea. Embarassing when it happens but the buyers didnt complain too much and i dont ever recall getting a neg for it.

It happens very occasionally to me as well. It normally seems to be on older items, listed a few years ago, and goes back, I suspect' to when Delcampe were having a lot of server and site issues before moving to the new look site.

I assume that what happened is that the system did not delete the listing after a sale, but only for a few random items - impossible to track if you have thousands listed.

Just have to grin & bear it and hope there are no more!!

Interesting it is not only happening to me. I do agree it is older items that have been up several years that are popping up again.

I double checked my remaining Haiti items and all appears well with them so it will be interesting to see if more of these reactivate in the future!

As you say nothing to do but grin and bear it!

The issue stems back several years ago.I have had a dozen or so similar issues. Items were somehow
listed twice and once one sold the second was no longer available. A refund and an apology should do the trick.
In case of a negative feedback, dispute it with an explanation.
