Lower Bids, never ending Story Part II

    ... once upon a time.

The seller could set the percentage at which a lower bid would be accepted. This definitely prevented us from having to deal with completely nonsensical offers, the only thing that was missing was for the seller to be able to specify a minimum amount (total amount of all items) from which a lower bid would be accepted, of course with the corresponding visible information for the buyer. Then Delcampe had the brilliant idea of removing all restrictions, so something like a permanent discount sale, great, marketing from the mothballs. After realizing what everyone who has been in this business for a long time had known from the start, they did a half-backflip with the 30% limit, great. What happens after a half-backflip? Of course you fall on your back, pain. Do the people at Delcampe think that we sellers are making astronomical prices where you can just give a 30% discount. Now the lower bids all come in at 30%, just as unrealistic and labor-intensive as before. It also seems to be "top secret" how collective underbids can be made. In any case, there are many buyers who request 10, 20 or 30 items individually and who are unable to make a collective underbid. Unfortunately, we cannot help with this, as we only sell on Delcampe. In addition, the 30 cent fee that Delcampe now charges the buyer for each item sold means that a lot of underbids are being made for low-priced items, but these do not make sense, as the seller is not the cause of the high final sale price, which is usually much higher than the item's catalogue price. For collectors, it is the case that they enjoy the small things that complete their collection, and not everyone has a deep pocket. So if Delcampe no longer wants to be the marketplace for small things, it must be taken into account that once the small collector has been driven away, they will also buy the expensive things elsewhere. Perhaps Delcampe is overlooking this fact. As it is now, it is not a win-win-win situation.

Here is a classic win-win-win suggestion:

Delcampe gives the seller the opportunity to define vouchers. The following parameters should be included at least. The product categories affected, total amount/sales, possible exclusion of items with certain shipping tables, fixed amount or percentage, free shipping, etc. The buyer can then redeem the voucher in the shopping cart, provided the conditions are met (marking the items that refer to the voucher). Delcampe can advertise these vouchers. When defining the voucher, the seller can select the type of advertising/frequency, etc. and thus also determine the fee that he has to pay to Delcampe if the buyer uses the voucher when making a purchase/redeems it in the shopping cart when the buyer pays.

I know, not really suitable for this forum, but there is no better place.

    Kind regards

... and another addition to this topic. If a lower bid is received from a buyer who has never bought anything before, or who has never bought anything from the buyer in question, you get a pointless error message that you cannot send a message for security reasons because no purchase has been made by this buyer. I would really laugh so much if it wasn't so sad... Regards

    Hello,
OK, maybe you haven't understood the problem exactly.
    - A buyer makes a lower bid.
    - This buyer has not previously purchased from the seller in question.
    - When you click on "Contact buyer" the previously mentioned notice/error message appears.
    - This request does not appear under the article in question, so it is not possible to respond via the article.
    - If you do not want to accept the lower bid, you can only reject it without comment. That is extremely rude and clumsy. With an explanation as to why the price cannot be reduced, the purchase at the normal price might still go ahead.
    Kind regards

    I don't understand this line:
citation: "This request does not appear under the article in question, so it is not possible to respond via the article"

you cannot get a lower bid without seeing said article.....as far as I know.
I frequently use the described method as only option to contact the unknown bidder, who is out of reach by any other means.

Hello, I can't see this "back door" in the article. It's a fixed price offer. Maybe you're confusing it, it's not an auction. But it doesn't matter, if Delcampe makes it so difficult, I can only interpret it as meaning that they don't want to sell anything. I'm not going to invest any more time in it. Best regards
