Dear members of the Delcampe.net community,

We would like to give you information about two important regulations that may have an impact on your activities on our platform: the DAC 7 and INFORM laws.

The DAC 7 law concerns the taxation of online platforms and aims to ensure fair taxation for all online transactions. You can find out more about this law in our help centre article:

    Lien (https)

The aim of the INFORM law is to fight tax fraud and improve the transparency of online transactions. To find out more about INFORM and its impact on Delcampe.net, please refer to our detailed article in the help centre:

    Lien (https)

In order to keep our forum clean and organised, we encourage you to centralise all your questions and discussions about DAC 7 and INFORM in this post. This will allow us to better follow the conversations and provide accurate answers.

If you have specific questions about your own situation, please contact our customer service department via the contact form on our website. Indeed, as we are dealing with sensitive data, we will not be able to provide you with answers via a public medium. Our team is here to help you understand how these regulations may affect you personally.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. By working together to stay informed and comply with these laws, we can continue to make Delcampe.net a safe and reliable place for all your online transactions.

    Kind regards,
    Cecilia - Delcampe Team

Please can you confirm that we only need to enter our home countries' Tax Identification Number for access to the USA?

Also the link on the English 'Inform Consumers Act' to 'the dedicated page on the Federal Trade Commission website' is not working.

The Contact details page does not accept my TIN number "your TIN number is not valid".
I have tried both, with a Finnish Social Security number (personal identity code) and a Business ID. Is there an error on the page?

    Dear "Joutavatako",

For confidential reasons, may I kindly ask you to send us the TIN you have entered through our contact form: Lien (https) so we can check your case?

I just received the email about this today.

    I'm in the U.S. and a U.S. citizen.

Am I exempt from having to provide a TIN; tax identification number? I don't even have one.

From the message it sounds like only those in Europe have to do so. Can you confirm?

    Hello "battlestamps",

    Thank you for your message.

Any seller that ships to the US, need to enter their Tax Identification Number.
If a seller does not want to add it, the USA will be removed from their sales conditions and the possibility to sell to US members will be removed from their account.

To add your TIN to comply with INFORM, you need to go to this page Lien (https) and enter it below the field "Tax identification number TIN", then press "Save and next" at the bottom right to apply the change.

    Regards,
    Miranda

I am being asked for my TIN, but as a UK, Non Tax Payer I have never heard of this & wouldn't have a clue as to where to find it.
Is this only needed to ship to the US, If so I haven't posted to the US for at least 2 years and dont intend to.

This is from your own webpage:

    "Which sellers are impacted?
The sellers concerned are all private and professional sellers residing in the European Union."

    Source: Lien (https)

I live in the U.S. and I'm an U.S. citizen. I don't have a TIN. Am I going to be disallowed from selling items to people in my own country then? Or am I exempt? Your webpage and your answer here conflicts.

And, you are not impacted by DAC 7 as you are based in the US.
DAC 7 is only for members from the European Union as you have read.

However, you are impacted by the Inform Consumers Act: Lien (https)

Is this number the same as my social security number? I don't have any tax identification number otherwise. I'm not required by any U.S. law to otherwise have one. eBay nor Paypal requires one.

I believe you have to enter your National Insurance Number.

I, myself, am retired as, no doubt, many of us are on Delcampe and I presume this is the ID that is required?

    Hi "Prescott9376",

You don't have to enter your TIN like the other European Union sellers, this is correct.
However, if you wish to keep on selling to US members, you'll have to enter your TIN in your sales conditions.

    So basically,

    - Sellers from the European Union must enter their TIN (or its equivalent) in their Contact details page: no exception
If they sell to US members, their TIN will automatically be added in their sales conditions.

    - Sellers outside of the European Union do not have to enter their TIN (or its equivalent) to keep selling on Delcampe.
However if they do have the US in their delivery zones, they'll have to enter their TIN in their sales conditions.
If they do not, the US will be removed from their delivery zones in about 60 days.

    Hope this helped.

    Have a good day,
    Miranda

From the second link in your last post:

"U.S. taxpayer identification numbers include a Social Security Number (SSN), which is issued to
individuals, and an Employer Identification Number (EIN), which is issued to individuals or entities.
In addition, an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is issued to individuals who are
required to have a U.S. taxpayer identification number but who do not have and are not eligible to
    obtain an SSN."

So, for sellers in the U.S. like myself, my SSN should be fine to use since I don't have an EIN. You might want to include this information in your emails / website concerning the upcoming changes as otherwise it's confusing.

    Hi -

This will indeed curb what I buy on delcampe. Sorry, but it is like cutting off your nose to spite your face type of thing.

I will check a few more sellers out, but fear that many won't enter their TIN or there won't be much of what I'm looking for from those that do.

Keep you posted. With feedback and a history like I've had on delcampe, I am surprised that when I come back to check out the goodies, I get struck with a U.S. law. Well, I live there... I guess by not knowing this, I'm part of the problem?

    Thanks...
