PAYPAL Implementaion on DELCAMPE .. never ending story

    Hello,

    After an increasing number of PAYPAL payments without seller protection have been received here in recent days, I spent around 90 minutes on the phone with PAYPAL today to get to the bottom of the annoying issue of "DELCAMPE-PAYPAL INTEGRATION".

    These payments come from buyers who do not have a PAYPAL account and pay by credit card, for example. However, this means that there is a risk that the amount will be charged back even a long time after the payment.

    In order to prevent this type of payment from being permitted, it would have to be specifically disabled in the PAYPAL developer interface. However, it is definitely not everyone's job to make these settings, especially since DELCAMPE is responsible for these settings and can be overwritten by DELCAMPE. So it is more or less pointless to go to this trouble.

    As a partner of PAYPAL, DELCAMPE is responsible for ensuring that these settings are available in the PAYPAL payment settings on the DELCAMPE website and are then routed from there to PAYPAL. In this case, the setting to make payments via PAYPAL without the payer having a PAYPAL account should be prohibited. This also applies to the partial payment arrangement, for which the seller is charged an additional 6.25% fee by PAYPAL.

    These setting options should have been made available by DELCAMPE before the changeover, which is already causing enough problems. Now the only option is to return the payment to the buyer, and that will again lead to an immense amount of administrative work.

    In this case, the fact that the explanation text for the return of the payment, which the seller then provides for the PAYPAL refund, is not included in the payment protocol at Delcampe makes things even more difficult. So the buyer doesn't know why the payment is being returned and then we're playing ping pong again.

    It is therefore urgently necessary that DELCAMPE makes these setting options available and also displays the information text for refunds etc. in the payment protocol !!!! Until then, the default value must be set so that these types of payments are not possible.

    Then we also talked about the topic of displaying partner fees in the seller account. Unfortunately, this topic could not be clearly resolved because the PAYPAL employee was not familiar enough with the matter/API interface. However, it is likely that DELCAMPE has an error in the system when transferring the data to PAYPAL.

    Silence from DELCAMPE will not help. These problems must now be resolved quickly, otherwise the only option is to deactivate PAYPAL as a payment method for the time being. The effort that is currently being made by the PAYPAL implementation is unbearable.
