DESCRIPTION
An authentic first-press Decca mono original, not a later rainbow-label reissue. Superb sound quality and a beautifully preserved example of Southern’s finest vocal era.
A sophisticated 1957 mono vocal jazz LP by Jeri Southern, arranged and conducted by Ralph Burns.
“Jeri Gently Jumps” showcases Southern’s cool, intimate phrasing and smoky interpretations of standards such as “My Ideal,” “Am I Blue,” and “My Old Flame.” The lush Decca orchestration highlights her signature blend of vulnerability and poise — a quintessential example of late-’50s vocal jazz perfection.
