GREAT CHOPINZEES ~A SPOONFUL OF CHOPIN’S SECRTETS VOL.3~
The music critic James Hueneker, displeased with Vladimir de Pachmann's eccentric behavior and appearance, coined the term "CHOPINZEE" to ridicule him. But more than a century later, Pachmann's fame has not diminished.
Now the pejorative title of Chopinzee has morphed into the title of the great Chopin expert.
The performances included in this anthology have been compiled under three themes: definitive recordings by legendary Chopin players, world premiere recordings, and parochial paraphrases.
The style of a century ago, the lost sense of beauty, has certainly been left behind.
I hope that you will feel like traveling through time when listening to this CD.
