ASAHINA & MAKI CHOPIN 1949 (Broadcast Recording - PrivateAcetate Disc)
1949, the 100th anniversary of Chopin's death.
Japan was still in a harsh situation, four years after the war. A recording of the radio broadcast of Chopin's "Piano Concerto No. 1" by two geniuses, played as if inspiring that era, was discovered.
This is a recording of all of Japan's oldest Chopin "Piano Concerto No. 1". It is a private board by a lover at that time, and since it is an alumite board, there are some parts that are not well preserved.
However, it is the only sound source that can remember the passionate performance of those days.
We would like to thank Mr. Satoshi Matsubara (pianist) for discovering and providing a historically important recording.
Please enjoy the lively and moving performance.

Note: The sound source recorded on this CD is based on the only existing record that was cut directly from the 1949 radio broadcast on the alumite board. It has deteriorated over time, and there is noise and sound cracking as a whole. In addition, there are some missing parts of the sound caused by the damaged groove.
Please note that refunds and returns are not possible due to the reason of the recorded contents.
