    All the black has been shifted down, including the shadows in the bends of the "super-flag". There is a listed variant "black omitted" and in fact, I see many stamps from this time exist with one colour omitted, but my SG Concise doesn't seem to list any colour *shifted*.

    So either it's a random fluke considered a defect, or a very rare and collectible error, possibly even affecting only the one sheet this block comes from. Who knows.... :question:

    I wouldn't get your hopes up too high as errors of colour registration are quite common in stamps of this period - so common that Gibbons don't even record them!

    I wouldn't get your hopes up too high as errors of colour registration are quite common in stamps of this period - so common that Gibbons don't even record them!
