identify India - Arabic destination postmark

    I have an old Hyderabad India cover, which seems to have an Arabic postmark in the back.

    Whats the date, destination and postmark?

    Any help appreciated

    Hi,
    I don't read arabic characters, but the date is 13 (month ?) 1308 (sure):whiteflag:
    This date (with this stamp) is impossible in hegira lunar calendar used quite everywhere in muslim countries
    1308 AH = (1308 x 0.97) + 622 = 1852 AD

    BUT

    it is possible in solar hegira calendar used in Afghanistan and Persia
    1308 SH = 1308 + 622 = 1930 AD
    You must search there

    The SH calendar is mayby also used in Northern India.
    The side with the adress is wrote in 2 diffrent languages
    The 3 first lines . name and adress are (I think) in a language used in Southern India or Ceylon
    The last line in arabic character (city of arrival) for the postman at the place of the mail departure

    My opinion

    The letter is from Northern India (the stamp with the date on the back side), and send to Southern India ot Ceylon

    It's whriten in "ourdou" in use mostly in Pakistan, Afganistan and north of India

    Some letters are the same as in arabic but the spelling and prononciation are some time different.
    If I had to translate in french : Hyderrâbâd.
    ->Hyderabad is a city in Pakistan and the lunar symbol whith a star is on their flag......but another Hyderabad exist in India, state of Uttar Pradesh....

    Writen on the adress side is a name but I can't read it.
    So, that's all what I can tell you today

    Muharram is the 1st month = January
    Not realy. It's well the first month but for a LUNAR calendar !
    The year is "turning" cause the numbers of days is not the same(circa 354 instead 365).
    That's the reason why all celebrations are moving each year if you use a gregorian calendar.
