    Today I have got a regularly declared letter (with minor value) from Guernsey.
    Due to unknown reasons, it was opened & X-Rayed by Swiss Customs.
    :deal:

    maybe the suspected it might contain a Guernsey Cow or another hidden treasure.
    The red mark "Geröntgt" (X-Rayed) refers to the scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen,
    and was never seen before by me.....
    :love:

    ....in other words: it's a very part of our current postal "history"

    btw. the £2 stamp remained uncancelled - but that's another story....

    Well, compared with Swiss Customs,Serbian one has no such as sophisticated weapon
    against Delcampe smugglers . They use eye and finger Rays ,and whatever is inside
    the letter, disappear as an Easter egg from a grave !
    But one thing is for sure : DelCampe bill has never, ever been stolen ! It's
    always there !!!:d-happy::pc_user2:

    MMM. pretty much the same here in Philippines. Everything coming into the country is assumed to be worth millions and therefore worth stealing (as the streets of Europe & USA are paved with gold as we all know).

    Everything going out of the Philippines to another country in assumed to be worthless....so I never have trouble here with my Delcampe items.

    Customs in some countries (particularly USA) seem to work at a snails pace, however....occasionally takes 3 weeks or so after registered mail arrival in USA to actually arrive at its destination.

    They probably assumed anything 'philatelic' as worth a lot, Lol

    I must admit I avoid putting 'philatelic' anywhere on the mail I send.

    Most of the stuff I sell is relatively low value anyway, but if necessary I use alternative (but correct) terms, that wont attract attention from potential thieves.
