A while back, the privacy settings of the website were modified by DC. As a result, it's no longer feasible to view the names of members involved in bids and similar activities. Nonetheless, I find it intriguing that when an individual raises a question about an item, their username becomes visible. What about privacy concerns here? Could you please elucidate this phenomenon? Thank you.

    Hi Tom,

Usernames are hidden when there's a transaction: buyers and bidders are confidential to everyone but sellers.
Raising a question is not part of the transaction and as such this information is not hidden.

    Regards,

    I see that, Miranda.
But there is actually no need to publish a user ID when asking a question. Why it can't be anonymous?

Otherwise, what is the purpose for DC?

    Thanks, Tom
