    Dear members,

Here is the message much anticipated by many of you to bring you up to date. I shall proceed sequentially to explain things clearly.

    1. Monday morning, we fell victim of a crash of our main server.

    2. The hard disk has been severly damaged and, after almost a week of work, my American partner's technicians have not been able to recover the data from 12 to 16 September. This means that the site has been restarted in the state that it was on 11 September.

    This implies:

2.1. Any action performed on the site after the 11th of September has unfortunately not been recorded (such as registering; selling, editing or closing an auction; making an offer; asking a question; posting an evaluation; contributing to the forum; etc.)

2.2. Auctions sold between September 12 and 16 may possibly have had new winners (depending on the bids that had been made by 9-11). Of course, the original bidders are the real buyers, those from whom you received an email and not necessarily those who are listed as the winners on your account. This is the greatest negative impact of the data loss.

    3. The closing of auctions that should have ended during the black-out period (17-22 September) have been postponed by a week. That should permit buyers to place their bids and sellers to obtain fair market value.

    4. I was not able to inform you of what was happening at the time because unfortunately I could not access the master list with your emails.

    5. I am now taking measures to insure continuity of the site and to avoid such problems in the future. But, I can't give details at the moment.

    6. The site reopens this Sunday.

Sorry for these troubles of which we are all victims, you as well as I.

    Sébastien Delcampe, Manager

PS: I thank all the members who have made their support known to me through hundreds (!) of emails this past week. This is comforting through hard times like those we just went through.

PS2: Thank you, Benoit, for translation
