Images on Delivery Note

Images appear to be smaller than usual on Delivery Notes printed this afternoon. Similarly the screen images for a delivery note are also affected (although they can be enlarged).

    Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I am told that the size of the image on the delivery note is now the standard! It is virtually invisible! The size makes it impossible to use the printed delivery note as a means to pack items.

And if you do it on line you have to enlarge the image to be sure you are selecting the right item.

Another system deficiency and poor design in the new system in my opinion.

Delcampe's new system continues to disappoint.

Why don't you pack from the invoice?

    My Delcampe
    Sales
    Awaiting Shipment

This is what I do and I have no problems picking items from the images shown - and my eyesight is pretty bad these days!

Sorry should be 'To be sent' not 'Awaiting invoice'.

I use the Delivery Note because I check all the items before I send the invoice.

In fact they've changed all the images throughout the Invoice Management process. So it doesn't matter whether you use the delivery note or invoice you have the same problem.

Having a reasonable sized image on the delivery note was always a great feature on Delcampe. It is now gone.

I have to see the images as a lot of my sales are used stamps ... and I often need to see the image (postmark). No longer possible unless I enlarge the image on line ... thereby wasting time.

For me the new Delcampe system is so much worse than the old system ... and so are the sales.

You can easily enlarge the picture/image on the invoice.

There is also a tick box which means you can then tick the box once picked and packed.

Once you have done it a few times it's a piece of cake.

With the new site one has to totally forget the old site. Just imagine you are listing on a totally new site.

I cannot enlarge the image when the delivery or invoice is printed. It is what it is - too small. And was a nice feature for the customer too.

I know perfectly well how to enlarge the image. Yes, it is simple but it takes time when you have an invoice with 30+ items! And it was unnecessary. And I don't always want to work on line.

The tick the box feature is of no importance to me.
There used to be a tick box against each item on the delivery note but this is gone now. This was useful to 'tick' as each item was pulled out for shipment.

We have to live with what we've got or move on. I understand that. But the new system which was meant to be fast is actually slow. Features that were meant to be replicated from the old system are gone. And for most sellers sales are down. So occasionally I like to reminisce about better times.

Many of my invoices are 50+ items and it is quick and easy using the system outlined above for packing items.

If you want a printed invoice then you can print one off after you have finished packing. I suppose I am seeing things from a different perspective to yourself as I find the new system easy easy and quick to use.

There is no way that it is simpler to use than the old system. My customers tell me they find things difficult and some are still having problems paying via Delcampe.

    It is slower too.

Clearly we operate in a different way.

You need to speak to people who have not used Delcampe before or those who left and came back.

I am getting a totally different feedback regarding the new site. This is particularly so from those who migrated to eBay and then migrated back again. The consensus from those I am in contact with is how easy and quick the site is to use. In my role as Chairman of the TCC GB (Telephone Card Collectors Club) I come across many collectors who buy and sell on Delcampe - and the comments have been mostly favourable. Adverse comments usually from those who were very familiar with the old site. With this I was one of those. When first introduced I hated the new site with a vengeance as I found it difficult and cumbersome to use.

Now I wonder what all the fuss was about. But then I did have a three and a half month break when I was in Kuwait and the UAE and on my return found almost everything pretty easy and straightforward compared to when I left..

Maybe the comments you got would have ALL been favourable for the old site. Since I no longer see any sales volumes on the site now I am guessing that is because sales are down overall.

There seem to be just as many outages as on the old system which is outrageous really. And the system is slower.

The system can of course be used and you adapt to the latest version. My point remains that in my opinion a number of the neat features in the old system did not transition to the new. And this latest evolution with the images is another downgrade / nuisance. Not the end of the world but makes no sense.

And fyi I have customers that say they are not going to use the new system ... ever. And they've moved on elsewhere for sure. But on the other hand I have customers that are happy with the new version too.

There are always those who take umbrage at anything new - particularly when it is disruptive to the peaceful and tranquil life of before which, when you look closely, was never the case anyway.

Talking about sales mine have shown an improvement from previously and this can be seen from the flag counter I use in my Delcampe store where my average visitor count is up which is reflected in my higher turnover. Maybe I'm bucking the trend but my non Delcampe sales also show an increase - but this may be due to the Brexit effect with Sterling being so weak and my Euro zone customers taking advantage.

With customers migrating - I am sure this is true as most of my increased sales are due to new customers rather than the previously establish ones I had before I left for the Middle East. But there are new customers signing on with Delcampe all the time and, I suppose, the trick is to catch some of them!

I think we've lost the point of this thread which is about the Delcampe decision to reduce the size of images so that they are virtually impossible to view on delivery notes. This is a change from the 'old' system and a variation on the 'new'. I say it is a downgrade and cannot possibly be construed as an improvement. You say it is OK because you can use it.

I say that there are other flaws in the new system but you don't see any.

You seem to be classifying me as someone who 'take umbrage at anything new'. Maybe I am but probably not. This image change is a stupid and unnecessary change which clearly affects me more than you.

"I say that there are other flaws in the new system but you don't see any."

Now I never said that! I know there are flaws in the new system but, unlike you, I actually prefer the new site to the old. Looking back I never thought I would say that!

But, to me, the new site is easier to use and again, to me, has proved to be more stable than the old one. Also my visitors, sales and turnover are up. So, to me, it is an improvement which I believe will continue to improve as time progresses.

With 'taking umbrage' I was not implying you but your customers who departed elsewhere rather than staying with you and giving the system a chance.

Customers that left had every justification in doing so in my opinion. You were probably away during the 9+ months of transition nightmare. There were just too many issues. It lost a lot of persevering sellers a considerable amount of business. Running two sites simultaneously for such a long period because the new system was never properly tested at the outset was outrageous. Buyers and sellers alike were immensely inconvenienced and frustrated. It is no wonder many gave up.

The new site is far from stable and it is slow. It wouldn't be too difficult for it to be more stable than the site during 2016!

There are many features that are improved e.g. offers.

But the subject of this thread is NOT one of them.

So where images being smaller would be helpful or even better an option to print images or not (like the old system) would be on the list of sales which I need to print for audit purposes at the end of each month to tally with the commission paid to Delcampe. I bang on about this every month but nothing changes!

And the size of the images on delivery notes is ridiculous ... a joke!

    Hello Alan,

I've advocated this use case with our Product team. We'll see if something can be done about image size *fingers crossed*.

I note that the images have been resized. Thank you for doing this - it is much easier again. I do note, however, that vertical images get squashed. I don't know whether some clever programming could fix this?
