    Yes I think that you are correct. IBAN is only used by European countries, + a few other British & European countries that use the European clearings.

    The rest of the world seem to primarily use SWIFT. May be a good idea for D to consider buyers & sellers outside of Europe. Granted, they are still a minority........

    I did try to set all this up but found that the IBAN/BIC format was WRONG so couldn't put it in the format required by my bank, and there's no provision for putting in my domestic bank details either

    All in all, 0 / 10 for usefulness

    I'm sending out the details relevant to the buyer's country on my invoices

    I filled it in as well as best I could. It was not easy to make sense of the form so the rest will come when someone tries to use that method of payment.

    It will be interesting to see what the customer sees when they try to use this as a payment method.

    I did this several days ago and remember that it was not clear which information went into which boxes. Presumably what I did was correct as the information was accepted because I did try other variations which were rejected.

    I suppose it will all become clear when the system is operational. If there are glitches then this forum will be awash with them I'm sure!

    Put what you like in those boxes and the system strips out any spaces and makes an single string which is difficult to read unless you're a computer

    There's nowhere to put sort code or account number in UK format

    For example, my bank is coded as
    IBAN: GB 08 MIDL ssssss aaaaaaaa
    BIC: MIDLGB22

    where ssssss = sort code and aaaaaaaa = account number but if you don't know what these different elements (sort code and account number) are there's no way of showing UK bank details - and bear in mind that the spaces are stripped out leaving a long alphanumeric string

    If the buyer has their wits about them and uses a bit of nous they may - repeat, may - be able to extrapolate the required sort and account code, but I wouldn't want to put it to the test with real money!

    Information for the following payment methods: bank transfer, national check, cash and credit card, can be introduced but are not yet sent to buyers. We are currently working on a project that will eventually allow to transmit payment information to buyers. We recommend you to already introduce them now. We will keep you informed in one of our next newsletters.
