For security reasons, images, links to images and HTTP links are no longer allowed in item descriptions. Only HTTPS links that do not lead to images are now allowed.

'err_description_http_image' is an error thrown out when an image or a link to an image is found in the item description.

'err_description_http_link' is an error thrown when an http link is found in the item description.

Hi,
why does something like that happen overnight and how should logos etc. be integrated into the item description in the future. Even on ebay this is not a problem, why does Delcampe do that? The whole sales process is disrupted. It would make a lot more sense to invest the time in automatic sales processing, API extensions, minimum order values and more discount options than introducing such changes!

the display of pictures, logos, etc. is not a security problem, that is total nonsense, even ebay allows it. That this is no longer possible is especially for professionals. commercial dealers a significant limitation of your presentation. How can you distinguish yourself from all the gray and black marketeers on the Delcampe marketplace if you can't even display your company logo or the affiliations to associations (e.g. APHV) etc ... This is a crucial quality feature for buyers. And why do these things keep coming from one day to the next. The entire synchronization of the website is disturbed. Sales are severely hampered. This is a completely unproffessional Delcampe approach. For such changes you need lead time. And it happens again and again. The gray and black marketeers don't care, they are happy about the little crosses that you have to make manually on the website, because they don't have to record anything and don't take into account the time required ... At Delcampe, there is apparently no understanding at all for commercial providers . Our concerns are simply not taken into account. This has been the case for years. At some point the day will come when a VAT ID is required from a certain sales volume, then you have a problem with all the gray and black marketeers and then it may be too late because the commercial providers then probably already sell elsewhere !!!

I totally agree with you, Klaus.

In addiction we can say that the APIs lacks of a large amount of features, sale completion (ie: automated shipping costs) is a nightmare, server downtime is dramatically too high. All the problems are demanded to developers and their customer...
It is really tedious to work on Delcampe platform and, let me say, the situation is going to get worse INHO.

yes, the error text suggest right this. But

<img src=" Link (https) " alt="10176896.jpg" />

returns with same error message.
and this is not a HTTP link, of course, it is HTTPS.

Please check and fix the bug.

what are the security problems with the pictures? Can you explain the problem? If you do not want links to external servers, which I can understand, create a download area where logos etc. can be loaded onto the Delcampe server and then integrated into the item description via an internal link . That also solves the problem. But simply switching off without warning is a completely unprofessional course of action!

As cartamoneta-com mentioned, it is no longer possible to add images in the item descriptions. You can use the image field to add pictures of your items.

we do this here since 10 years.
And we both know the Delcampe-API and the Delcampe technics does not work proper all the time.
That's not the problem, and that's not part of this tread.

Sure, I use the image field to add pictures.

And in the last ten years I have had a lot of communications and threads with technical support about missing pictures which were not uploaded by the API - here in the Forum and directly by email.
And your Forum is full of threads from other users relating problems with Images sent in the image field.

And sure, Delcampe is improving their server and technics. I believe in.
But we both know, you can not guarantee that the image uploads are working well all the time.
And then I have the trouble with all the customers which are asking for the missing pics.

And please remember, the API add-an-item-call returns an image error only when all sent images are not available,

Horrible! What do you think, why a user is uploading 3 or 4 pics? Because they are important for the buyer. When some of the pics are missing, the customer will not buy it - I do not earn money - Delcampe will not charge fees and does not earn money as well.
We had a lot of such failures by the Delcampe API.
Loosing time, loosing money, bad user expierence.

The best solution is to add the images in the description as well. And always when the Delcampe Server were not to be in the mood for using them, the buyers could always see the images in the description.

So just update this new "feature", when the item description contains images which are same as the images in image field container, do not return this useless error.
