DP47 - 1878 2d Die Proof Trial for Lighter and more Fugitive Colours. Very fine example printed in mauve pink on yellowish white wove, watermarked Small Star paper, overprinted ''SPECIMEN'' type 10 showing reversed ''34'' below design. Small pinhole away from design as found on all these trials from being pinned in the Printers/Post Office record book. A magnificent example of this very rare proof, almost certainly the only surviving full size example in this colour in private hands, Spec. DP47.
