L’artiste :

Pierre Chenet.

Pierre Chenet est un artiste, sculpteur du XXème siècle du Nord de la France. Pierre Chenet a créé sa fonderie au début des années 1900. Il commence l'activité de sculpture depuis le début des années 1970. Il utilise sa technique dite de la"Patiné à l’acide” qui rend chacune de ses sculptures unique de par sa couleur (Bronze).

Ses sculptures en bronze suivent le procédé de la fonte à la cire perdue. Une technique qui consiste à envelopper de cire un moulage en argile et lorsque le bronze est coulé, il remplace la cire qui est évacuée d’où son nom de cire perdue.

Il sculpte essentiellement sur la sculpture animalière tels que des ours, des lièvres, des cochons, des taureaux...Tout comme François Pompon, Chenet lui aussi rend bien le mouvement et la puissance de l’animal

Description :

Paire de cochons en bronze, l’un la tête en bas, l’autre le groin vers le haut.

La marque de la fonderie, une couronne a trois branches, et le cachet de P. Chenet se trouve sous chacun d’eux.

Les deux bronzes ont été achetés par Sébastien Delcampe lors de l’évènement Affaire For Life pour l’opération 488100 à bruxelles le 2 décembre 2023.
