Bijzonderheden:
In deze brochure wordt een zeldzaam molentype behandeld: de watermolen die niet werkt op het water van een stromende rivier, maar op de getijden. De getijmolen van Rupelmonde bij Kruibeke is de enige van zijn soort in de lage landen, die nog maalvaardig is. Naast een algemene inleiding over watermolens met onder-, boven- en middenslagrad of een turbine, wordt de getijmolen onder de loep genomen. Een uitgestorven type is de gecombineerde water- en windmolen ('watervluchtmolen') waarvan de watermolen ook op het getij werkte, zoals opgericht in o.a. Duinkerke (Frans-Vlaanderen). De oudst gekende getijmolens passeren de revue alsook de geschiedenis, werking en technische gegevens van de Spaanse Molen in Rupelmonde. Een leuk boekje voor een sympathieke prijs!
