Mooi geïllustreerd boek over Adolf Hitler in de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Hij diende toen als Gefreiter bij het Bayerisches Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment 16. De nadruk ligt op zijn inzet aan het Ieperfront in de periode 1914-1915, maar ook zijn verdere oorlogservaringen in Noord-Frankrijk komen aan bod. Als amateur-schilder penseelde hij o.m. de kerken van Ardooie, Beselare en Mesen.
