United States, Scott #5172 (MIchel #5358)(Yvert&Tellier #PR117)(Stanley Gibbons #5777), used(o) coil, 2017, Patriotic Non-Profit, stamp shows a ‘USA’, red star, and blue border; to qualify for non-profit mail postage, an organization must be structured as a non-profit entity and fall under one of the following categories recognized by the USPS: religious, educational, scientific, philanthropic (charitable), agricultural, labor, veterans, or fraternal; essentially, their primary purpose must be not for profit and not designed to benefit private stockholders or individuals; issued at a counter value of (5 cents) in coils of 3,000 and 10,000 stamps with a plate number in the margin of every 27th stamp, non-water soluble self-adhesive gum, serpentine die cut simulated perforations at scale: 10 vertical, imperforated at top and bottom, perforations at the sides (IPIP), offset lithography printed by Ashton Potter USA (APU), diagonal, “USPS” in blue ink microprint at the top of the thin slant line to the “A”, issue date of ‘2017’ in vertical white microprint at the lower left corner (stamp should not be confused with a similarly designed non-profit stamp issued in 2016 (Scott #5061), also a coil stamp, but without the blue border), red and blue, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: 25¢, slightly off-centered (very fine), no visible cancellation which is typical for a non-profit mailing as most non-profit mail by-passes the automatic cancellation machines, good perforations, stamp was lifted from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed, first on a piece of acid-free white bond paper for color contrast, and then on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance with other stamps from the period similarly mounted; reasonable centering, mounting, and cancel free image warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.
Please review my terms of sale. If you are not ordering from the United States, there is a $US1.70 additional postage expense that needs to be added to the price of the stamp. If you are ordering from the United States, there is only a $US0.78 added postage expense. Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used. If not satisfied, return the stamp to me at your own expense, and I will refund the cost, but not my postage to you. If the stamp is not as described, I will refund the cost and reimburse you for postage both ways.
By way of reference, I am an American Philatelic Society member (195176) and an American Stamp Dealers Association (ASDA) member. Thank you for looking, and I hope this is the perfect stamp to fill that gap in your collection.
