With all changes that coming up next month, selling fees going up.
10% plus 0.30e per item from 6.50% (for monthly sales below 1000.00e) plus 0.23e.
Its pretty much for one time increase, practically 50%.
Definitely costs of running business went up,but 50% :(
Pity,as it getting close to mayor competitor charges ((

What you mentioned is just the portion that customers pay of the fees. There are also other new fees for sellers: a monthly shop fee, a plus fee and an API fee.

The 10% + 30c is a fee for the buyer, not the seller - it will be added to any price you list at but you will get the price listed before Delcampe add their bit on.
Seller commission is being done away with - replaced by a monthly fee depending on the number of items you have listed for sale

    OMG,looks like I got it complitely wrong,thank you !!
    Found this now :
    -"For buyers
Objects will now be displayed with the commission directly included. This is calculated as follows:
    Fixed amount per item: €0.30
Percentage of the seller’s asking price: 10%
For example, if a seller wants to sell an item for €10, it will be displayed at €11.30 to the buyer, including all costs and taxes (except shipping)."

To be honest,I'm lost then, its mean, that if you have below 1000 items, its completely free to sell ?
Then my questions is ,how fair it for buyers ? I'm not just a seller, but a buyer as well, but even as a seller, cannot get it,it might drive many buyers away.
Will see,how it would work.Strange times :whitewine:

No problem, many people are confused by the change, it would appear.

Is it fair to buyers, no, but I can to an extent, understand where Delcampe is coming from. Their sales listings are full of stuff that has been on there for years, costing Delcampe a lot in server costs (100 million according to Sebastian), and this is their latest attempt to slim the size of the site down.

Sellers will pay according to the size of their store, and yes, less than 1000 items, no seller fee. Again this is being done to try to force sellers to thin out their listings.

As far as buyers go, Delcampe are assuming all sales prices are inflated by the commission sellers would have to pay when an item sells, so are hoping sellers will reduce their prices by this extra amount which obviously then helps to deflect at least some of the overall cost to the buyers. That’s the theory anyway, whether it happens or not, only time will tell! They say they are allowing everyone to use the multiple changes function for a time prior to the introduction of this to allow sellers to adjust their prices.

Sebastian did a very good broadcast in English and in French a little while ago. They are available on YouTube, worth checking out.

Will it work? who knows. Buyers might just jump ship because of the cost to them and sellers because they are not getting the level of sales they had. For professional sellers this could be a major factor. We’ll all find out in the next few months.

    Agreed.
Have to watch Sebastian's broadcast to get a better understanding of changes,as didn't pay much attention till today, when got emails about changes.
Personally have less ,than a thousand items, but if list more, paying for a store wouldn't be a problem,as it is just fair.
Charging buyers the fees...,will see how it works.Probably would be more price offers asking for deeper discount which is fair as well.
    Thanks again for clarification !!

Its a fee increase, moving the fees from seller to the buyer just obfuscates the increase.

Buyers will just take the full cost into account if it is clear on the website, or are more likely to abandon at checkout if it is not. It will impact small lots especially.

The only decrease was removing fees from Mangopay (was Delcampe pay) and the new fees more than offsets that.

Store Plus will be double the cost of club+ with less value for the seller. The new store size fee will further increase the fees due and are not sales dependant.

Winnipeg is correct that the fees do not stack up well with the other large auction site. The sell through rate needs to be a lot higher to justify the fees. Time will tell if this is achieved.

I didn't say that it wasn't an increase, only that Winnipeg seemed to have the wrong end of the stick as far as who was charged is concerned.

Of course fees will be going up, perhaps the only thing is that it's going to be more now down to the choice of the seller - how many items you list and therefore what the monthly fee will be; will you pay for Store Plus or not? All decisions sellers will have to make in the near future.

Wow, wasn’t expecting this when I came home from work!
    1) I pay £50 for a gold membership and list as many items as I want. It will now cost me €250 a month?
    2) I only have 3 weeks to make any changes to my shop, I need time to evaluate.
    3) I tried to watch the YouTube video and to be honest did not find it very clear.
    4) I still have 6 months of my Gold club to run, will I get a rebate?

I understand about the server costs. Why not disable the automatic resale of items after a month, making buyers to relist them all again. This would cut the server space by 75% as people are lazy and only serious competitive sellers would bother to do it.

I also buy on Delcampe and have not looked at that yet and how it will effect my decisions but I do not think this is a great business model.

it will only cost you €250 per month if you have more than 1 million items in your store! As you have (just) less than 10,000, it will be €4.95 a month, so perhaps breathe easily on that score.

Thanks moonstone. The 10k postcards I have on Delcampe are about 10% of my stock, but I take your point.
I have just re-watched the video and I do see opportunities, It will make me completely re-evaluate my shop but this will take a lot of time as I have a full time job and will reduce sales considerably in the short/medium term. In the long term it may in fact increase sales.
I have used Delcampe for over 20 years, I just hope these large scale changes don’t change the buying/selling experience for the worse.

A new FAQ has been published (in French only surprise suprise)

    Link (https)

It includes the following gem of PR speak, aparently they belive that the changes will benefit sale of low value items. Of course it does not mention the 30 cent buyer fee!

Won't the new pricing harm the sale and purchase of low-value items?
Currently, if a seller wants to sell an item for 10 cents, this is not possible because the cost of the commission is higher than the amount of the item. The seller would then sell at a loss. Few low-cost items are therefore offered.

With the introduction of the new pricing system, where platform fees are borne by the buyer, the seller has the option of listing an item for 10 cents and actually receiving that amount, in addition to any shipping costs.

This change therefore benefits the sale of low-value items.

I'm currently unsure if I will continue with Store plus under the new pricing structure as it offers less value due to the removal of item fee discounts. The one issue I was encountering was my 10k existing listings which I use a personal reference on to pick stock efficiently.

Going forward I'm adding my personal reference into the item title. For old items I really did not want to edit all my lsitings to do this.

Fortunately you can download a csv file containing the item number, title and persoanl reference.

To do this, go to the ongoing sales list ( Sell > My items for sale > ongoing) and click the download icon on the right of the screen (shown with a red arrow on the screenshot). You then get a dialogue box (2nd image) where you can select all the pages and click excel.

After a few minutes you'll get an email with a lint ot a csv file that you can use as a lookup for older items.

Hope this is helpful if you are having similar thoughts!

Sellers have been paying the following fees:
    - commission 6%
    - fixed per item fee 0.23 Euro

In the future, the fees above are increased and will be paid by the buyers:
    - commission 10%
    - fixed per item fee 0.30 Euro

According to Delcampe's estimates, 95% of sellers will see their costs reduced significantly with this new system.

If your monthly Delcampe fee you are paying now is higher than the store subscription fee, you will see your cost reduced.

    For example,
    - Delcampe fee for January 2024 - 35 Euro
    - Delcampe fee for February 2024 - 20 Euro
    - Delcampe fee for March 2024 - 60 Euro
    - Future store size fee 19.95 Euro

In the case above, the seller will pay less when the new membership fee (according to store size) comes into effect.

In the past there are examples of that charging buyers, instead of sellers on similar platforms have failed. The biggest danish platform QXL.dk went bankrupt after a dramatic drop in sales, after they started charging 55 cent from the buyer pr. lot.
Tradera in Sweden just started with so called "buyers protection" which is an addon fee for the buyer of 30 cent + 5% , and I already noticed lower prices - its a very delicate topic and has the potential to destroy the whole platform - but lets see.

Sellers might theoretically pay less to Delcampe, but if seems likely they will have to reduce their item price if they want to maintain sales. Otherwise buyers will just see a big total price hike.

I am afraid nobody will buy cheap single stamp lots anymore after adding 30c + 10% into their prices. Such selling prices will be higher than catalogue prices…

As as seller I am considering to list my fixed price lots in some other web site with more reasonable fee structure. Any recommendations? I am thinking of Colnect and StampWorld. They are collector friendly and have integrated selling and buying into their stamp catalogues, which is a nice idea.
