LACK OF INTEREST

Hello fellow Delcampe members. I am finding it necessary to communicate with this group again. I understand and accept that every store owner here is of the opinion that they should and could be selling more. However, I am deeply troubled by the fact that I have not had a single purchase from my listings in months. I believe that my inventory is at a par with other listings relative to content and price. Recently I reactivated PayPal and put all of my items on sale at 20% off. Still nothing. I find it very strange that 20 to 30 people will look at a listing valued at about $2 (this validates interest) and make no offer to purchase. In truth I have listed certain items at my cost, and still not a response. I believe that my store functions correctly, but if you see any issues please let me know. My store is found at: Link (https) Thank you in advance for your responses. I am truly perplexed. :)

You have made a start by accepting Paypal but you need to address some of the other issues raised in your previous thread:

Your store is very small - 217 items when I last looked - and many are not of particularly popular items such as UK Presentation packs and covers. Listing a few items every day is more likely to find some interest as you will then always have some items near the top of any searches. Perhaps some research into sold items will show what is currently popular.

Remember also that Delcampe is a predominantly European centred site so you need to aim to list items that appeal to that audience.

I think with the new rules for extra eu sellers made by Delcampe (25 euro for each order for eu tax + management cost) non-EU sellers are cut off

    Only for Professional sellers.
If they re-brand themselves as private sellers perhaps this can be avoided - though there are probably customs and tax unforseen problems associated with this??

This is really not an option.
It is not straightforward to change - it is not a switch setting as forms have to be completed.
    It would also be dishonest.
Further I suspect there are unintended tax related consequences.
    Not worth the added aggravation.

No sales since 1st July other than one I had to reverse because of the euro 25 fee.

The writing is on the wall?

Hi Alan, my searches for items have often led me to your shop where I've had multiple good transactions.... Even as a non-EU buyer recent changes on Delcampe have made it difficult for me to continue to use the site. An attempt to settle an outstanding bill by credit card now that Mangopay cannot be used from outside the SEPA area resulted in my card getting blocked. I could unblock the card, but have not yet succeeded in getting the transaction OK-ed. Delcame seems to think that such payments are smooth. I hope they read this forum and wisen up...

In regards to the 25 EUR fee, if we are non-EU but have the item shipped to France (family/friends addresses) shouldn't that prevent the fee from being charged? It is an import/export fee.

Then can either collect in person or have them shipped all together and pay one import fee.

    Thanks for your insights.

Actually yes. You registered address on your delcampe account should be a EU-base address then, even temporary ... I also had a transaction with a customer having 2 addresses... one in UK, the other in Europe....

    Hello,

In accordance with our Terms of Use, items must be shipped exclusively to the address registered on your Delcampe account, which must correspond to your main residence.

We understand that this may be restrictive, but it is currently not possible to have an item delivered to a different address.

This matter has already been raised and discussed in the past; however, we are unfortunately unable to say whether any changes will be made on this point in the future.

Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you an excellent day.

    Best regards,

    Elise - Customer service
