    China

Since 2012, China Post has issued four sets of Silk Road stamps. The fourth set will be released on May 18, 2025. The cultural relic on the first stamp is one of the greatest discoveries in 20th century Chinese archaeology; It is also a national first-class cultural relic and one of the first batch of cultural relics prohibited from being exhibited abroad in China. It is the Han Dynasty brocade arm guard known as "Five Stars in the East Benefit China".
In 1995, deep in the Taklamakan Desert of X**jiang, archaeologists accidentally discovered a piece of brocade while excavating an ancient tomb. The brocade was clearly embroidered with the eight characters "Five Stars Out of the East, Beneficial to China". This discovery surprised the joint archaeological team of China and Japan at the scene, especially the source of this tapestry, which was even more shocking. It comes from the Han Dynasty two thousand years ago, and this brocade is not an ordinary burial object, but an item with a profound historical background.
It symbolizes the military victory of the Han Dynasty and friendly relations with the Jingjue Kingdom, and what is even more difficult to ignore is that these eight characters cleverly match the design of the modern Chinese national flag.
