SOUTH SUDAN MNH complete 1st set South Sudan, including the withdrawn 2.5 SSP (penultimate) Coat of Arms

The first postage stamps for South Sudan were issued on 13 July 2011 by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Postal Servicesand should have featured the flag of South Sudan on the one South Sudanese Pound (SSP) stamp, the Coat of Arms of South Sudan on the 2.5 SSP stamp, and an image of Dr John Garang, the pre-independence leader, on the 3.5 SSP stamp. Unfortunately, however, the penultimate design of the Coat of Arms for South Sudan appeared on the 2.5 SSP stamp, with the eagle looking to the right instead of the left, while it carries two spears instead of one spear and one spade, therefore, it was decided not to issue this stamp, but only the ones of 1 SSP and 3.5 SSP. Overview:

I am a collector of postcards and stamps of Bhutan and South Sudan. I have extensively contributed to the entries in WIKIPEDIA of Postal Stamps and Postal History for both countries, Bhutan and South Sudan. To finance my hobby, I sell stamps, postcards and phonecards of, in particular, these two countries.

I am a national from the Netherlands (a.k.a. Holland), living abroad since 1986, nowadays mainly in Uganda and Thailand, with regular trips to Bhutan and South Sudan.
While Bhutan is an acclaimed success story, the present state of affairs in South Sudan is reason for serious worry. We always hope for the best.
