Important note about cover binding
Flety says that R. P. Ginain worked with Bozerian the younger. Active in Paris between 1820 and 1850, Ginain worked in the Romantic style. Among the major collectors for whom he worked were King Louis-Philippe and the Prince de Joinville. There is mention of another Ginain working in the third quarter of the 19th century at 16 Rue Dauphine in Paris, but nothing else is known of him. The collection of Henri Beraldi (1849? 1931) included at least 20 bindings by Ginain or R. P. Ginain. One entry in the catalogue of Beraldi\'s collection indicates that \"R. P.\" may stand for \"Retie Par\" Ginain.
