Art Craft cachet on First Day of Issue cover for the 1 cent George Washington stamp (Scott #1031).
The addressed cover with a block of four of the 1 cent stamps was canceled in Chicago, Illinois, on August 26, 1954, the First Day of Issue of the stamp, with a First Day of Issue slogan cancel.
The embossed cachet, printed in black, shows a portrait of George Washington along with an image of him kneeling near a tent.
Size: 6 1/2 x 3 5/8" Slight damage to the flap gum. Reverse side is stained by the envelope glue.
