T.B.Morton established a mailboat company in 1867 to operate as The Danube and black Sea line Service with eight vessels operating between Constantinople and Galatz(Galati) in Romania across the Black Sea. There were agents in Bourgas and Varna (Bulgaria), Kustandje (Constanza) and Braila (Romania).
These Journal Stamps were issued in 1871 postmarked 'PD' in a hatched lozenge. Used stamps are uncommon.
