Miscellaneous Lots in Boxes COMMONWEALTH & FOREIGN predominantly K.G.VI & early Q.E.II (some earlier scattered throughout) Commonwealth countries in albums incl. plenty of Australia, many part-sets, 1983 mint coll. of stamps issued by all Commonwealths countries following 1981 Heads of Countries meeting in Melbourne, small Jersey FDC coll. in two 2-ring binders, a few covers, etc. Also a small shoe boxed sized lockable tin box with Commonwealth and Foreign issues (A-I mainly 1930's to 1970's incl Commonwealth mint part-sets) in small packets labelled by country organised by year. Estate lot many apparently 'as bought' in auction therefore mixed condition in places. Many hundreds to sort through (11 albums & a tin housed in a large box.)

The oldest name in stamp auctioneering in the world - Established in 1898

Founded by Mr H.W. Plumridge, the business started as a stamp shop based in the West End of London. Sometime before the First World War, we moved to larger premises with our own auction rooms. The new premises were located in the Strand which at the time, was the heart of Philatily. Our stamp auctions , which at its peak were held twice a week, continued through both wars. In more recent times, the office was moved to Adam Street and then St Martins Court where auctions were held in nearby hotels including the Strand Palace Hotel. More recently we, like many others, have relocated to premises on the outskirts of London. Our current premises are easily accessible by rail and road. At the present time, we are holding regular quarterly auctions.
