Highlights incl. 1713 cover from Durham to Long Houghton, Alnwick, 1790 Alnwick 'horseshoe,' 1838 EL from the Duke of Northumberland, 1837 Alnwick/Penny Post, 1848 Alnwick skeleton h/stamp, 1790 Berwick mileage, 1794 Berwick/on/Tweed double ring, 1797 BER/WICK in a circle, 1839 BERWICK/PENNY POST, 1859 unboxed Blyth/Penny Post, 1840 Haydon Bridge h/stamp '2' and the smaller '2' on 1844 cover, 1813 Hexham mileage, 1789 N.SHIELDS, 1793 NORTH SHIELDS HORSESHOE, 1832 N.Shields/Penny Pos, 1841 'TYNEMOUTH' in red. We note the collection includes several items with hand stamps used outside the previous recorded dates. The collection is accompanied by an album of modern Northumberland postcards. (41 + cards)
