1948 French Consular Post in Jerusalem, fiscal stamp of the "Affaire Etrangéres" overprinted "JERUSALEM POSTES FRANCAISES, 20 MILLIÈMES", very fine with sheet margin at top, tied by "JERUSALEM 12 MAI 48" cds on Air Mail cover sent to Le Mans, France. Backstamped "PARIS TRI No1 2.6.48" and manuscript "Parvenue á Paris tri no 1 le 2 juin par valise diplomatique". THIS ISSUE ON COVER WITH ARRIVAL DATESTAMP IS VERY RARE, ONLY FOUR ARE RECORDED. A similar cover sold at Tel Aviv stamp auctions in october 1999 (lot 211) for 3750 USD. Priced in Bale catalogue at 4000 USD. In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
