Commonwealth & Dominion Line / Port Line
Formed in 1914 with 23 ships contributed by J. P. Corry & Co, Wm. Milburn & Co, Thos. B. Royden & Co and Tyser & Co. to operate services to Australia and New Zealand. In 1916 the share capital of the company was purchased by Cunard and after the war, their ships' funnels were painted in Cunard colours. Apart from this, the company operated as a separate entity from the parent company. The Montreal, Australia & New Zealand Line (M.A.N.Z) was formed in 1936 with equal thirds held by C & D Line, Ellerman & Bucknall and New Zealand Shipping Co to take over the Canadian National Line's Australian service. In Nov.1937 the official name of the company became Port Line Ltd and in 1957 the company became a fourth equal partner with Blue Star Line, New Zealand Shipping Co and Shaw Savill & Albion Lines in Crusader Shipping Ltd to trade between New Zealand, the Far East and Pacific Coast of North America. The Port Line joined a consortium named Associated Container Transportation Ltd in 1966 and this gradually started the run down and replacement of the MANZ Line which ended in 1969. Several other amalgamations took place in subsequent years and in 1972 the parent company Cunard, was taken over by Trafalgar House Investments Ltd. By 1978 Port Line had become an integral part of the Cunard Group and in 1982 the last two Port Line ships were transferred to the Brocklebank Line.

The Fleets
G. D. Tyser & Co.
Founded in 1860 as Tyser & Haviside and traded initially to India. Australia and New Zealand voyages started in 1864 and in 1873 the firm became G. D. Tyser & Co. A New York to Australia service commenced in 1898 and in 1912 an emigrant service to Melbourne started in conjunction with Royden's Indra Line.
With the outbreak of the Great War in 1914, the emigrant service ceased and the company merged to become part of the Commonwealth & Dominion Line (Port Line).

Membre du Jury à l’Exposition Internationale du Havre 1887, Monsieur Lucien Foucauld fut successivement membre des Comités
d’Organisation des Expositions Universelles de Paris 1889 et de Paris 1900.
Jury Member of the International Exhibition of Le Havre 1887, Lucien Foucauld was later member of committee of Universal
Exhibition Organization of Paris 1889 and 1900.
En 1894 Monsieur Lucien Foucauld s’associa à son fils, Monsieur Marc Foucauld, lequel faisait
partie de la Maison Lucien Foucauld & C° depuis 1889.
Au décès du fondateur, Monsieur Marc Foucault est resté gérant de la Maison Lucien Foucauld & C°.
Marc Foucauld, who was working in the company Lucien Foucauld & C° since 1889 joined his father
Lucien Foucauld in 1894.
Lucien Foucauld died, Marc Foucauld remained Chief executive Officer of Lucien Foucauld & C°.
Monsieur Marc Foucauld fut délégué par le Gouvernement Français membre du jury aux Expositions Universelles de Saint Louis
(USA) en 1902, de Liège en 1905, de Bordeaux en 1907.
En 1906 par décret du 21 juillet, le Président de la République Française le nomma Conseiller du Commerce, mandat renouvelé
pour 5 ans en 1912.
French Government appointed Marc Foucauld as jury member of Saint Louis (USA) Universal Exhibition in 1902, liege 1905,
Bordeaux 1907. The President of the French Republic appointed him as commercial consultant till 1917
