S. DELCAMPE: The Electronic Wallet is a electronic account that helps you pay or to be paid on Delcampe. You can either credit or withdraw money from this account.

1° A buyer finds an item on Delcampe and sees the Electronic Wallet is accepted as a payment method by the seller;

2° He buys or places a bid on the sale;

3° Without having to leave Delcampe, the seller can send an automatic invoice by email with all the details and fees for the items concerned;

4° The buyer clicks on "pay seller with Electronic Wallet". This link comes along with the automatic invoice sent by the seller;

5° He/she checks the information and confirms payment ;

6° Done! The seller is notified by email about the payment and items can now be shipped!

How long does it take for the money to be transferred from the buyer's account to the seller's?

Less time than it took you to read this question! Once the buyer has confirmed the payment, the money is transferred right away. The money is withdrawn from the buyer's account and goes directly to the seller's account.

Why is the Electronic Wallet a major improvement for members?

Buying and selling on Delcampe will be easier for everyone; buyers will be less hesitant when it comes to international transactions; we will recommend this method to all the members; no more cash lost in the mail; buyers and sellers will save a lot of time thanks to the automatic invoices, ...

Do we need the Electronic Wallet to buy & sell on Delcampe?

Not at all. All the payment methods members are currently using will still be available.

However we are convinced that, little by little, it will become the most commonly used payment method. Many of you will be seduced by all the advantages it has to offer.

Why was not it introduced earlier?

We have been working on this for almost three years now. It was officially announced here by the end of the year 2004.

However, we have had to face some financial and legal difficulties.

We first thought that we could have our own electronic payment method until we received the details of a study carried out by specialized lawyers. According to this study, we had two possibilities: find a huge amount of money or find a reliable partner. The choice was obvious.

The current version is not very appealing to the eye. However, the day we met them in their offices, we could see what the next version would look like and we are already sure that most of the members will like it. They will switch to the new version in the next few weeks. You just need to be a bit more patient.

What will it cost to use MoneyBookers?

• Creating an account is free;
  
  
• Sending money is free;
  
  
• Only the person who receives money through MoneyBookers will have pay a 2% commission fee. Such low fees make the wallet accessible to everyone and very competitive compared to the other electronic payment methods.
  
  Examples:
  • If you receive a 5-euro payment, you only have to pay €0.10;
    
  • If you receive a 50-euro payment, you only have to pay €1.00.
    
  
  
• Possible extra fees depending on the payment method used. Different payment methods can be used in order to credit your Electronic Wallet. Some are free, some are not.

Let's imagine a transaction with the Electronic Wallet;

• 10:00 The buyer clicks to buy an item sold at a fixed price;
  
  
• 10:10 He/she receives a winning notification by email;
  
  
• 10:15 He/she asks the seller to specify the delivery fees, if he/she does not know them already;
  
  
• 10:30 The seller sends an invoice, all fees included;
  
  
• 10:40 The buyer pays through the E-Wallet. The seller immediately receives a payment notification by email and by message on Delcampe;
  
  
• 10:50 The seller prints the invoice with the buyer's mailing address and ships the whole thing the same day;
  
  
• 08:00 (Following day in the morning) Do not be surprised if the postman is knocking at your door and ready to give you the items you have bought a day before!
  

The seller receives the money very quickly and does not waste time in dealing with cheques and all kinds of payment methods. Items can therefore be sent the same day and reach their destination the following day or the day after!

Can any Delcampe member use the Delcampe Wallet?

Yes! ... this is our present to all the members.

We first thought that the E-Wallet would only be available for the Club+ members. We have changed our mind.

During the next coming weeks, all the members will be able to pay or get paid through the E-Wallet without any limitation. However, from December 1st, you will need to be a Club+ member to receive more than a certain amount of payments through the E-Wallet. Sending money will still be possible for all.


Here is a summary of what we are planning... (subject to modifications!)

3. For regular sellers (more than 10 payments a month): they are helping the website by becoming Club+ members.
   

Can I use the E-Wallet outside of Delcampe?

Through Delcampe but for items not listed on the website no. Our partnership with MoneyBookers does not permit us to do so. We prefer developing the interaction of the E-Wallet with Delcampe so it can fit your needs the best way possible.

However, you can use your MoneyBookers account to send or receive money from someone with another MB (MoneyBookers) account.

Will communications between members become scarce because of the E-Wallet?

Not really. Up to know, members did have to exchange many emails in order to carry out a transaction properly.
Now, this will automatic and obviously, there will be less communication.
However, members will still be able to type a message on the payment requests or invoices. Because almost everything is automatic, they will have plenty of time to send a friendly message to another member.

Will there be a "trusted third party"?

Yes. This matter has already been discussed with MB. It will be the next major improvement of the E-Wallet. This third party will receive the buyer's money, notify the seller and send the money to the seller only when the buyer has received the item.

Can Delcampe access my personal MB information?

No. We will never have access to the confidential data related to your MB (MoneyBookers) account. However, each payment sent or received will leave a trace in "My Delcampe".

Can the seller see my MB information?

No, never.

How do I create a MB (MoneyBookers) account?

It is easy and only takes a few minutes. Just go to:

"My Delcampe" > "My Payments" > "Open / create account".

How do I pay money into my MB account?
Do I need a credit card?

There are many different ways of doing this. Most of the time, this can be done by credit card, cheque or bank transfer.

In order to pay money into your MB account, you need to connect to MoneyBookers (Click here), and then click on "upload funds" in "My account" (or click here).

How do we know if a member uses the E-Wallet?

Thanks to a small logo next to the titles of the items listed.

How do I make a payment with the E-Wallet when I win an auction?

Go to "My Delcampe" > "My Bids" > "Won". For unpaid items, there is a "pay or send invoice request" button. Just click on it and follow the instructions.

You can also go to "My Delcampe" > "My payments" > "Pay seller". There you can find a summary of what still needs to be paid.

How do I ask for payment when an item is sold?

Go to "My Delcampe" > "My sales" > "Closed".

For unpaid items, there is a "send invoice" button. Just click on it and follow the instructions.

Note that when the buyer has sent the money, this button becomes "print invoice".

How do I print an invoice with all the information needed for sending?

Go to "My Delcampe" > "My sales" > "Closed".

For paid items, there is a "print invoice" button. Just click on it and then print.

How do I use the E-Wallet to pay my Delcampe fees?

Go to "My Delcampe" > "My Delcampe Fees " > "Credit my account". Choose the first payment method (Moneybookers) and follow the instructions.

What else is new on Delcampe?

Along with the creating of the E-Wallet, we improved the design and ergonomics of the website.

We found the inspiration in the annual survey and the website should be even more user-friendly.

What changed:

• A better design more appealing to the eye ;
  
  
• The automatic invoice and the printable invoice you can send with items;
  
  
• A simpler logging system. You do not need to log in several times when switching from a local website to another one;
  
  
• New Forums for a better communication between members and also to find or give help more easily;
  
  
• A useful Site Map. For a better general view of the website and all its pages;
  
  
• On Pascal's own initiative, several guides full of valuable tips and information are available on the website. You can find them in "Help & contact" > "Guides et manuals" ;
  
  
• Distinction between professional and private sellers . Professional sellers can now be recognized easily thanks to the "[PRO]" logo next to their nickname.

What is coming next before the end of this year?

For the moment, three big projects are in the process of being achieved:

The "I want" board. You will be able to tell the other what you are looking for;

The group offer. When buying several items from the same buyer, this will allow you to get a possible discount;

The postal identification. Members who want it (not mandatory) will receive an identification code at their home address. By doing this, we make sure the address provided by the member is correct (no POB allowed) and the member will gain confidence from the other members. The price asked for the postal identification is based on an estimation of what it will costs us (approx. €5.00).

Do we have to use the E-Wallet?

No, it is your own choice to use it or not. This payment method is very likely to be used by a great deal of Delcampe users. Why not you?

It is advisable to use the E-Wallet to pay or get paid for items sold on Delcampe. It does make buying and selling a lot easier, faster and cheaper. There is more to come but you will have to wait a few weeks!
