Lithographed, photogravure or self-adhesive stamps of the U.S. since the 1990s. Some stamps do not soak well. Some stamps may have slight discoloration. Some stamps may have cracked ink or have small facial scrape(s). Some stamps may have residual gum on the back. There may be some small perforation pulls due to the hardness of the paper (Civil War, Legends of the West, etc). The scans displayed should represent the face of the stamp in order for you to bid / buy appropriately.
Some U.S. stamps of the 1970s & 1980s are what I call "tissue paper" stamps, because they were lithographed or they used photogravure on inferior paper. You may find a dud or 2, but please bring them to my attention. I will replace it or refund your money.
Used stamps will be represented by (o). [ Stamps with thins are usually not posted unless stated in the title or description. There may be pen / pencil / stamp tong marks that do not pierce the stamp. ] Mint Stamps. Mint never hinged are represented by (**) and mint hinged are represented by (*) as per conventions established by many philatelists. mng = any stamp(s) with no gum or "issued no gum" (China, Indo-China, etc) may be described as such.
Stamp (booklet) positions in the Auction Title. These have to do primarily with booklet stamps. Although Scott mentions the booklets, it does not provide the "positions" in these booklets. So, terms like Top Left, Top Center, Top Right, Left Side, Center, Right Side, Bottom Left, Bottom Center, Bottom Right would be the positions in lieu of an absolute number and refer to the straight edge(s). Do not confuse these with older, natural straight edged (sheet pane) stamps.
S/A = Self-Adhesive.
