CEMT - Transportation Ministers Conference in Vienna

The 79th session of the Ministers´ Council of the European Transportation Ministers Conference took place in Vienna from June 6-9, 1995 in the Conference Center of the Hofburg. From Europe´s difficulties during post-World-War-II economic Reconstruction arose the need for coordinated planningand undertaking in the area of transportation. Therefore it was decided onJune 13, 1953 under the guidance of the OECD to form the European Transportation Ministers Conference. This consists of a council of transportation ministers and a committee of deputies and serves as a forum for the exchange of traffic-related experiences and ideas in search of optimal European solutions to matters involving transportation.
