MONTANA Little Bighorn Curley Crow native American Indian scout postcard

Handsome unused 1941 postcard of Curley, a famous Crow native American who was the sole survivor of General George Armstrong Custer’s brigade at the Battle of Little Bighorn in Montana! Curley was one of several Crow scouts attached to Custer’s command. He later stated that he escaped that day by disguising himself as a Sioux. He made his way down the Little Big Horn to its junction with the Big Horn River and reported to the commander of the “Far West” supply ship that all of the whites had been killed in battle. Born in 1857, he died in 1923. From G. I. Groves’ 1941 “Famous American Indian Series,” No. 4, and a desirable native Americana collectible in excellent condition!
